Fruit used for the 2014 Penfolds Bin 707 cabernet sauvignon was sourced from premium vineyards located in the Barossa Valley, Padthaway and Port Lincoln. This vintage was matured in new American oak for 17 months and weighs in at 14.5% alc/vol.
2014 wasn’t a bad vintage in South Australia with above average rainfall in winter and early spring. The Barossa Valley was hot during Late Spring and Summer with a few records being set. The grapes were able to grow and ripen evenly. Mid February however saw significant rainfall which slowed harvest conditions and the remainder of the growing season.
The 2014 Penfolds Bin 707 cabernet sauvignon is a wine that will require cellaring and a decent old decant prior to consuming.
