Wendouree Shiraz is made from priceless old shiraz vines which were planted by Alfred Percy Birks in 1893 and the early 1900′s. Wendouree Cellars is located in South Australia’s Clare Valley, and the owners Tony and Lita Brady employ traditional old wine making techniques used from its humble beginnings. Wendouree Wines are highly sought by Wine Collectors and the best vintages posses great cellaring potential, 25years to 30 years.
Wendouree Shiraz is a very collectable Australian Shiraz. It is considered by some wine critics and many fine wine collectors as Australia’s best shiraz. Wendouree Cellars also make Shiraz Mataro, Shiraz Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Malbec and a Muscat of Alexandria which is a fabulous desert / sweet wine. Wendouree Shiraz is difficult to find for sale and is only available to those who are lucky enough to be on the Wendouree Mailing List. Those same loyal customers keep buying this wine year after year, it’s virtually impossible to get on the mailing list and to purchase Wendouree Shiraz or Wendouree Cabernet Sauvignon directly from Wendouree Cellars.
The 2008 Wendouree Shiraz was rated 96Pts by Jeremy Oliver, it is a great shiraz which should cellar until 2028+.
