Description

2016 Hillcrest Village Pinot Noir.  Hillcrest is located in Woori Yallock, the Upper Yarra Valley, about 30 mins from Ringwood. It has recently been sold (2018).  Hillcrest Vineyard made tiny amounts for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Merlot or sometimes Cabernet Sauvignon and a Merlot.

Their wines are unique but awesome, they have an ability to age for a very long time.  Their 2001 Pinot Noir (I believe this was the first vintage under the current owners) drinks like a dream today, April 2017.

The 2016 Hillcrest Village Pinot Noir is a very good release, it has a little more varietal definition than the 2015 vintage, it should drink nicely for 10 to 15 years if cellared correctly.  It possess a fair bit of character with bright red fruit flavours.  Hillcrest wines are built for the cellar so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it is still drinking well 20 years down the track!
