Chateau Smith-Haut-Lafitte is a Grand Cru Classé estate. The Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte is a classic wine of Graves; a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with notable fruit intensity, fine-grained tannins and a unique, smoky signature. Grapes for the Grand Vin are whole-berry fermented in large, temperature-controlled oak vats of varying sizes. The wine is gravity-fed to oak barrels and vats with maturation taking place in barrels (of which 60-70% are new) for 16 to 18 months.
