Only the best parcels of fruit from Block 20 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, Kalimna Vineyard and Koonunga Hill, Barossa Shiraz were used to make the 2004 Penfolds Bin 60A. Separately vinified at Magill and Nuriootpa in open and closed headed down fermenters. Nearing dryness, the wine was racked into 100% new oak and completed fermentation. It wasn’t until the completion of malolactic fermentation, that individual components of the wines were classified to make the Bin 60A grade and were then selected and included into the 2004 Penfolds Bin 60A Cabernet Shiraz.
