Description

The 2008 Wendouree cabernet sauvignon is a great wine made by this very famous producer. The fruit of Wendouree cabernet sauvignon is picked from two vineyards, one from the cool central and the second from the western area of the Wendouree vineyard.

The cooler central block produces smaller berries and are known for their spicy characters and very firm tannins. The western side brings floral notes and a softer structure.

Consultant winemaker Stephen George – together with Lita and Tony Brady – make a wine that articulates the individual character of this unique and important vineyard. After vinification in open fermenters, the wine completes fermentation and remains in stainless steel until November. The wine is matured French oak, about 25% new, and the remainder in used French oak for 12 months.

Wendouree cabernet sauvignon is a muscular wine that requires cellaring. It possess dark chocolate and minty type fruit characters with fine tannins.
