2012 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Richebourg Grand Cru Burgundy.

Richebourg is located in the Cote de Nuits subregion of burgundy, in the commune of Vosne-Romanne.  Richebourg borders Romanee-Saint-Vivant in the east, Romanee-Conti and La Romanee in the south and along the north and west it borders Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru.  

The total surface area under vine in Richebourg is around 8ha 03a 45ca of which Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret has 31a 12ca.  The soil is quite clayey and it rests on limestone.  The age of vines in Richebourg under Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret are between 40 years and 60 years.  Harvesting is done by hand and sorted in the winery.  Destalking depends on vintage conditions and the wine sees 100% new oak barrels. 

Richebourg is highly regarded and known for its opulence and finesse. The main variety grown in Richebourg is Pinot Noir, a minimum grape maturity of 11.5% alc and a planting density of 9,000 vines per hectare are required.
