2008 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay.  Art Series Chardonnay is a great Australian wine.  Leeuwin Estate is located in Western Australia's Margaret River, which is known for producing magnificent chardonnay.  Leeuwin Estate is located south of the Margaret River Township.  The property is amazing, huge gum trees span the property creating wind breaks, the entry into and up to the cellar door winds between blocks of vines, it truly is a breathtaking vineyard.  

Winemaking however is an art as well as a science. The winemaker skills are carefully combined with technology to produce these highly acclaimed wines.  Leeuwin Estate follows European winemaking techniques, with a focus on complexity, balance and longevity in its wines by using a blend of modern and traditional methods.  The stainless steel tanks are temperature controlled, two Bucher Pneumatic presses, and French oak barrels at the ready ensure that the fruit is transformed into the intended style of wine.

2008 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay. Wine description, Brilliant straw green in colour.  A very complex wine. A bouquet of peach, ripe golden pear skin, white nectarine and savoury toasted ground almonds. Showing layers of fruit and subtle class driven French oak.  The result of very low yielding vines matched with subtle winemaking preserves the richness and intensity of fruit.  On the palate, the 2008 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay displays a full bodied characters, it possess a creaminess and intense purity of fruit.  Peaches, nectarine and pear flavours are evident with subtle sweet spice and almonds.
