The 2012 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay is a great vintage of this spectacular Australian Chardonnay. Located in Western Australia's Margaret River, which is known for producing awesome chardonnay, Leeuwin Estate can be found south of the Margaret River Township. The estate is amazing, huge gum trees span the property creating wind breaks, the entry into and up to the cellar door winds between blocks of vines, it truly is a breathtaking entrance into a great vineyard.

Winemaking however is an art as well as a science. The winemaker skills are carefully combined with technology to produce these highly acclaimed wines. Leeuwin Estate follows European winemaking techniques, with a focus on complexity, balance and longevity in its wines by using a blend of modern and traditional methods. The stainless steel tanks are temperature controlled, two Bucher Pneumatic presses, and French oak barrels at the ready ensure that the fruit is transformed into the intended style of wine.

The 2012 vintage produced a chardonnay that is youthful, concentrated and perfumed. The nose possess white stone fruits, fresh pears and lemon. Subtle notes of pistachio, cinnamon quill, blanched almonds and rice wafer lie beneath. The wine is elegant and fine yet powerful. Pear skin, lemon and lime lead to a finely textured mid-palate with subtle oak integration.  2012 was another great vintage for chardonnay in the Margaret River.
